India secured a seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in a thrilling Test match, with scores of 285 for 9 declared (Jaiswal 72, Rahul 68; Mehidy 4-41, Shakib 4-78) and 98 for 3 (Jaiswal 51, Kohli 29*; Mehidy 2-44), against Bangladesh’s 233 (Mominul 107*, Bumrah 3-50) and 146 (Shadman 50; Bumrah 3-17, Jadeja 3-34, Ashwin 3-50). Less than 24 hours after launching an unlikely push for victory, India wrapped up the game by chasing down the 95-run target in just over an hour.

India defied weather and time to complete a 2-0 sweep over Bangladesh.

The pivotal moment came on day four, with Ravindra Jadeja’s triple-strike in the first session sparking a Bangladesh collapse. They were bowled out for 146 after starting the day at 26 for 2. Bangladesh's batting lineup crumbled, losing 7 wickets for just 55 runs. Jadeja's brilliant bowling was supported by Ashwin and Bumrah, both finishing with three wickets each. Despite some resistance from Shadman Islam, who scored a half-century, Bangladesh's innings quickly unraveled.

India's chase got off to a quick start, with Yashasvi Jaiswal leading the charge, smashing a 43-ball fifty—his third half-century of the series. Although India lost three wickets in the process, including Jaiswal near the end, Rishabh Pant sealed the win with the final runs, ensuring India’s series sweep and extending their lead at the top of the World Test Championship (WTC) points table.

Earlier, Bangladesh had shown promise as Mominul Haque’s unbeaten 107 helped them to 233 in the first innings. However, India’s bowlers kept the pressure on. After Jadeja dismissed Najmul Hossain Shanto and Shadman in quick succession, Bangladesh’s hopes faded. Bumrah and Jadeja wiped out the tail, and despite a brief fight from Mushfiqur Rahim, Bangladesh could not stretch their lead to a defendable total.

India’s pursuit of the modest target was swift, with Jaiswal continuing his fine form. Despite losing Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill early to Mehidy Hasan Miraz, the result never seemed in doubt. Virat Kohli provided steady support, and though Jaiswal was dismissed just before the end, India comfortably completed the victory.
